Gender Troubles: The Butches
By Lisa Plourde (Filmmaker to be at the screening) TRT 54:02 Are butches failed women? Are they lesbians who wish they were men? What portrayals of lesbians are acceptable and who gets erased? These questions and more are thoughtfully examined and challenged by self identified butch lesbians. They challenge the assumptions about what it means to be female and show the rewards that come when we learn to accept ourselves as we are. This is a film to celebrate the butches. Film's website |
